Developed at Blocher Partners Architects in the role of Project Lead.
The competition brief was a student housing project in the heart of Mannheim. The challenging aspect was to create an attractive project with an existing building splitting the whole site. Blocher Partners in cooperation with Drees&Sommers and Kaufmann Bausysteme conceptualized a project where the new student housing will be constructed with pre-build wooden modular units. This allowed us to create the maximum number of units in a short construction time. Each floor will have a open, communal area additional to the two special public spaces, the café in the ground floor and the sky garden on the top floor.
