1st place Competition
Developed at GRAFT Architects in the role of Project Designer. Responsible for the 3D Design implemented by Project Lead Marvin Bratke.
GRAFT was tasked to develop a modular design system which will be the infrastructural backbone of the Volocopter eVTOL (Electrical Vertical Takeoff & Landing). The design strategy was to conceptualize a new interaction with the user and the experience of flying. The market of electrical air vehicles is expected to be substantial in the future, Volocopter is one of the first movers in the market and were looking for a signature system which allows a seamless implementation of a VoloPort in the existing infrastructure of a city. We at GRAFT started developing the smallest unit and developed signature design features which make the project unique. This design system is scalable to multiple units grouping together as well as connections to the infrastructure of a city.
The project was developed alongside GRAFT Brandlab which were responsible for the strategy as well as user experience. GRAFT Brandlab continued on the project and was commissioned to build the first prototype in Singapore in 2019.
