Design for a wooden housing project in Wörth am Rhein.
The competition required a specific flat mix with the intent to create a sustainable and ecological housing project in the center of Maximiliansau. We chose to take the constraints of the B-Plan and subdivide the building mass into smaller volumes, creating semi-individual housing blocks and allowing more passages through the site.
On the northern part of the site we conceptualized a public „Bürgerterrasse“ on the 4th floor as an addition to the plaza. To facilitate and foster interaction of the inhabitants, the housing is connected with a green valley which allows private gardens as well as recreational spaces for the people of the neighbourhood.
